May of 2015 will mark 25 years since QLI welcomed its first resident to its brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation campus in northwest Omaha. In the beginning, the campus stood on 35 acres and could host up to 48 residents. After a massive expansion in 1998, QLI became the largest specialized post-hospital rehabilitation center in the country serving the brain and spinal cord injury population. It now spans 60 acres and hosts nearly 250 residents across its five levels of clinical care. Future plans include an on-campus family housing complex.

EXCELLENCE: Excellence to QLI is transitioning injured individuals from a state of fear and hopelessness to a state of independence and hope. Excellence is rebuilding shattered lives by redefining rehab.

INNOVATION: By using a unique per diem billing system, QLI rehab teams have the flexibility to incorporate therapy how and when it makes sense, infusing strategies into each resident’s day from the moment they wake up to the moment they fall asleep.

PHILANTHROPY: QLI’s “TeamQLI” campaign incentivizes its 350 staff members to take an even more active role in supporting our broader community. The company, itself, made a big impact in 2014 when it partnered with the City of Omaha Parks & Recreation to jointly unveil a $300,000 multi-phase renovation to Lake Cunningham, making the lake one of the most accessible water recreation areas in the region.
