Last month we celebrated Women’s History Month. Over 40 years ago, this month started out as a weeklong celebration when President Carter signed a bill to celebrate Women’s History for 1 week each March. Seven years later the US Congress signed a bill to name the month as ‘Women’s History Month’ with it becoming an annual staple each March after 1995.

Throughout this month, our community celebrated the contributions and actions of women locally, nationally and internationally. While March may be over, we can still continue to uplift and empower the women and girls in our community.
