If you’re new to town, or just looking to build more connections, check out our tips below from our YP Attraction Committee and Omaha Ambassadors on how to build your network in our community.

“Consider going back to school for a master’s degree or start a certificate program! You’ll meet a ton of people while improving your professional skills and build a network beyond your employer! People from my cohort met for drinks regularly, joined a volleyball team, and volunteered together!”

“Community outreach, Employee Resource Groups, Church (Sozo Coffee House has a weekly young professional meetup). Night classes at a Community College, gym membership such as Title Boxing.”

“Join Omaha Women’s Network if you identify; join local events on Nextdoor app; reach out to a non-profit you feel aligns to your morals/beliefs and offer to get involved somehow”

“Check out various social media groups to connect digitally with community members such as 500 Millennials of Omaha on Facebook or the Greater Omaha Young Professionals group on LinkedIn.”

“Consider applying for the Greater Omaha Young Professionals Council! Applications will open in August. Learn more here.”

“In the time of Covid-19, get creative! Join local virtual meetups such as happy hours or exercise classes that will help you socialize in a safe way. Event Brite or EventVesta are my go-to websites to find events.”
