The third annual State of Our City event was a success. Held October 24, the event showcased some of most popular topics in Omaha to a room full of engaged YPs who were ready to plug into the community.
Thanks to the entertainment panel, which included Lauren Martin (MAHA), Dominic Green (PRIDE), Itzel Lopez and Marcos Mora (Cinco de Mayo Festival) and Judy Kiagiri (African Cultural Festival Omaha). guests were able to hear how entertainment in Omaha has grown.
Daniel Lawse from the Metro Transit Board provided his expertise on transit and mobility with detailed study findings and next steps on how we can make the city more accessible.
Following the Transit Board’s presentation, the development panel – including Jeff Slobotski (Millwork Commons), Othello Meadows and TD Sanders (Seventy-Five North) and Jorge Sotolongo (NP Dodge) – discussed recent and upcoming projects in the community.
Julian Young from the Start Center inspired guests with his knowledge and passion for entrepreneurship, after which the team wrapped up the night with a Q&A session with Mayor Jean Stothert, where the audience discussed roads, scooters, and more.
