There is so much happening in the Omaha metro area and our state. From flood recovery, to nonprofits needing volunteers and boards needing members — there are opportunities to make a difference every single day and every single hour. A common theme at the 2019 YP Summit was to be engaged in your community, step outside your comfort zone and create your own happiness. Now that the Summit is over — the time for action is here.
Today, the members of the Greater Omaha Chamber Young Professional (GOCYP) Council are here to offer you a challenge… (do)GOOD in April. Volunteer and make a difference. Regardless if it is one hour, one day or a continuous opportunity, say YES! Say yes to making the Greater Omaha area a better place to live, work and play with your time and talent.
Earlier this year, we launched our new Engagement Directory. This growing list of organizations provides a robust list of opportunities based on personal interests which are specifically for young professionals. We encourage you to check back often as new organizations are being added on a regular basis. If you are a group with engagement opportunities and want to be listed, fill out the form with your own action steps for YPs to get involved.
Are you wanting more opportunities to make an impact? April is officially SHARE Omaha’s (do)GOOD month. Hundreds of YPs committed to service in April at the YP Summit, and it’s not too late to join them.
“The 2019 YP Summit was a pivotal day for SHARE Omaha, and the start of a new movement to do good in the Omaha metro. We were in awe of the excitement of Summit attendees as they pledged to initiate positive, community-enhancing change through volunteerism. On March 15, 151 young leaders raised their hands and claimed volunteering projects unique to their skills. We can’t wait to see their community impact during April’s (do)GOOD month!” – Marjorie Maas, executive director of SHARE Omaha
