Be ready. Show up. Get ‘er done. If you’re an advocate for earnest effort, Marvelous Members, then you’re in the right metro. That’s right, there’s something enchanting unfolding here, and you are making the magic happen.

Those fairy-tale moments aren’t without strategy and sweat, however. Maybe that’s why you’re a member of Omaha’s “A” Team – a cadre of go-getters, self-starters and ambitious individuals who make every day ever better.

Speaking of self-starters, it’s time to grab your megaphone and get set to cheer: The World Cup of Curling is coming to Ralston Arena December 5-9, satisfying the winter sports fan in all of us, while the AIM Institute is set to inspire with their Tech Celebration and Awards November 15.

There’s creative vision and more in the Greater Omaha Chamber/Omaha World-Herald’s annual We Don’t Coast publication, where the region’s shining stars – from music makers to tech talent – are spotlighted.

Plus, those same bright lights are shining from our no-coast locale all the way to China. Invest Shenzhen recently visited the Metro, looping in dignitaries, UNMC and the City of Omaha. The result: a memorandum of understanding signed by the Invest Shenzhen delegation and the Greater Omaha Chamber. A city of nearly 20 million, Shenzhen is a No. 20 worldwide financial center.

Business Insider put the spotlight on our region’s top talent as well, with a shout out to Greater Omaha’s creative class celebrating our No. 6 position as “most vibrant arts community” and a top-ten city for creatives.

Just around the corner – our Leadership Omaha Alumni Association’s seasonal holiday happy hour celebration is set for December 13.

For those craving community, Kitchen Council’s Holiday Chef Potluck, a celebration of local eats and treats, is December 5, while Defy Ventures is offering workforce, employment-readiness volunteer opportunities for mentors and more interested in impacting the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated.

Now, whether you plan to get that seasonal stay-cation feeling all week long with a social calendar invigorated by Visit Omaha, or are awash in great ideas worthy of The Startup Collaborative’s new Fintech Fellows Initiative, know that you, Members Extraordinaire, were born ready to show up and get ‘er done.

Go get ‘em, Chamber Members!
