UNO Opera presents “Dido & Aeneas”, composed by Henry Purcell with libretto by Nahum Tate. This story of love and loss is based on Virgil’s Aeneid. Queen Dido of Carthage falls in love with the handsome Prince Aeneas, and her empire hopes this alliance will bring prosperity and security. Things unravel when fate intervenes and calls Aeneas away from Carthage to found the city of Rome. Come see this show in an intimate, non-traditional theatrical setting with only 80 tickets per show. Running time is approximately 70 minutes. Show will run Fri, Feb 16 @ 6:00 and 8:00, Sat, Feb 17 @ 6:00 and 8:00. A limited number of free student rush tickets are available at the door one hour before each performance. All students are invited to attend the final dress rehearsal on Wednesday, Feb 14 @ 7:00.
