OMAHA, Neb., January 30, 2019 – The Greater Omaha Chamber Young Professionals today announced the organization’s 2019 slate of YP Council members.

Aligned with the Chamber’s goals to attract and retain talent in the region, the YP Council serves two primary roles: act as the voice of young professionals for Greater Omaha Chamber initiatives and serve as a community advocate on issues impacting young professionals. For the past 10 years, council members have also helped plan the YP Summit, Greater Omaha Chamber YP’s flagship event.

YP Council members apply and are selected for three-year terms. They meet monthly and represent young professionals at a number of community events. In addition to the YP Summit, council involvements include the annual, action-focused State of Our City; Campaign for a Greater Omaha; and a collaborative diversity & inclusion initiative.

Currently, young professionals, which includes Millennials, represent more than 35 percent of the U.S. labor force, and are the largest generation in the workforce today, according to Pew Research Center.
