Nick Bermel launched Royalty Roofing & Renovations in 2010 because he saw the need for a higher level of professionalism in the industry. The company’s mission – to be the example of consistency and excellence in the exterior remodel industry – reflects that.

“Since starting the company, we’ve made our customers and partners our priority while taking a hands-on approach with giving back to our local community,” Bermel says.

Backed by its commitment to hiring “qualified, caring and passionate people,” Royalty Roofing & Renovations earned 2020 Best of Omaha honors (residential roofing contractor) and the Better Business Bureau’s Integrity award in 2018.

“Success for us is not an individual feat but rather the opportunity to do more together and add value whenever and wherever we are,” Bermel says.

Winning Insights from Our Winner:

Providing an Excellent Customer Experience

“Customer service is the key to our success. It’s one of our core values – put people first,” Bermel says. “To ensure our customers are receiving quality service, we do weekly meetings, quarterly- or semi-quarterly training and invest in the software that provides up to date, accurate data to ensure we’re meeting response times laid out in our employee handbook.”

Empowering Employees and Creating a Culture in which They Can Grow and Succeed

“We know that we are only as good as our people. We invest in the development of the staff through our training programs, provide vehicles and give them incentives for quality customer satisfaction,” Bermel says. “Our management team is consistently looking for ways to develop our staff and offer them the greatest opportunity to work for a company that puts its people first.”

Best Practice Tip

“Always put the customer first, regardless of circumstances.”

The Value of Chamber Involvement

“We are a part of the Chamber due to its continued belief in adding great value to the community and offering opportunities to network and grow,” Bermel says. “We continue to meet amazing people who have similar values and challenges in their organizations. To be able to participate in the events held by the Chamber gives us an excellent opportunity to be a part of a larger vision, one that brings uniqueness from all fields with an equal opportunity to serve one another, network, learn and develop as a whole and as an individual.”

Impacting the Community

“The meaning of life is not our individual success but the growth of those around us,” Bermel says.

Each year, the Royalty Roofing & Renovations team joins together to give back, whether that’s baking cookies and treats to first responders, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, or using the company’s expertise to assist a local VFW on a construction project, donating all labor and materials. The company and its employees are also dedicated to serving the homeless, pitching in with Habitat for Humanity and supporting a number of other nonprofit endeavors.
