Greater Omaha Chamber Announces 13th & Howard Courtyard Transition

OMAHA, Neb., July 31, 2018 – The Greater Omaha Chamber today announced a “transition in use” of the organization’s property at 13th and Harney and 13th and Howard Streets. As a result, public events at the Chamber Courtyard will end August 31.

Originally established as a community-gathering space, the courtyard is home to Les Bruning’s O! Dude, the tallest sculpture of its kind in the region, provides a sanctuary for protected, native grasses and offers open seating for casual, or hosted, events.

The region’s “We Don’t Coast” wall, featured in ESPN’s 2018 College World Series’ promotions, caps the courtyard’s North end, while an animated signboard, promoting area amenities and attractions, scrolls continuously at the courtyard’s center. A tiered fountain adds a summer water feature to the area.

During the transition, the O! Dude, fountain, grasses and other amenities will be relocated, while the “We Don’t Coast” wall is currently under review for new locations.

“The transformation of this space is just one illustration of our region’s continued growth, as well as the growth of the 13th Street corridor,” said David G. Brown, president and CEO, Greater Omaha Chamber. “It’s a space that has thrived thanks to our neighbors, and we owe them our gratitude.”

The Chamber Courtyard has hosted 100s of events and opportunities throughout its tenure, including food trucks, eateries, concerts, holiday celebrations and more.
