Greater Omaha: We’ve Got the Goods on Getting Involved

It’s brilliant, this place – like sun reflecting on ice, or wind scattering snow – and it’s yours.

Named Insurify’s 2019 Best City for Singles in Nebraska, and the No. 14 Most Caring City in America by WalletHub, Greater Omaha is extraordinary; and, you’re the reason we’re successful in any season. Plus, getting involved in all things Greater Omaha has never been easier.

Take the region’s largest gathering of young professionals, for example, where more than 1500 millennials will turn magic into mission as they gather to ignite change and push for powerful tomorrows at the Greater Omaha Chamber’s YP Summit March 15.

That’s not all, Nebraska-born, photojournalist Jen Edney, one of National Geographic’s Nine Female Adventure Photographers Who Push The Limits, will appear at CreativeMornings/Omaha March 8, a no-cost opportunity to hear from a no-coast trailblazer who has logged more than 100,000 offshore miles.

Edney is not the only one logging impressive numbers. Cold Stone Creamery is out to change lives one scoop at a time with nonprofit, charitable-giving partnerships that make the more than 23 pounds of ice cream consumed by the average American annually (according to the International Dairy Foods Association) even sweeter.

On the Greater Omaha innovation front, LeverageRx, a finance company for healthcare professionals, has helped over 10,000 users connect with lenders that offer physician loans, while Median is maximizing online customer co-browsing with seamless software integration.

Just as innovation is for all, storytelling is for everyone, and TedxOmaha is calling for speakers now. This year’s theme: “Reframe,” an opportunity to share life experiences through a distinctive lens – yours.

That lens just got a little wider thanks to Midwest YouCan Foundation, shining a light on “empowering people with epilepsy,” while Omaha Public Schools Foundation continues to empower students with classroom grants designed to take learners to the next level.

All this good news is made better by Greater Omaha’s abundant professional development opportunities, from the 30th annual CRE Summit (the “premier event for commercial real estate professionals”) to the Mindset + Propel Sample Program, an opportunity to plug rising-stars into career enrichment.

No doubt about it, Omaha has hustle, so whether you’re planning to attend KANEKO’s February 28 Great Minds Series, or are getting set for spring with Opera Omaha’s Les Enfants Terribles, know that you, phenomenal Greater Omahans, excel at ensuring this great place is for everyone – with a “full-TEAM-ahead” attitude that uplifts, includes and advances all.

Go get ‘em, Greater Omaha!
