Greater Omaha Chamber Releases Statement on Funding for

National and Nebraska-Based Defense Programs 

The Greater Omaha Chamber released the following statement regarding Senator Deb Fischer’s key securement of funding for national and Nebraska-based defense programs:

“We are deeply grateful to Senator Deb Fischer for securing $566 million in FY26 defense funding that will directly benefit Offutt Air Force Base and critical Nebraska-based defense programs. This funding represents a major commitment to the long-term strength of our military infrastructure and the skilled workforce that supports it,” said Heath Mello, President & CEO of the Greater Omaha Chamber. “Senator Fischer’s leadership on the Senate Appropriations and Armed Services Committees continues to deliver meaningful investments that strengthen our region’s economy, support our men and women in uniform, and reinforce Nebraska’s essential role in America’s national security mission.”
