Greater Omaha Chamber Statement on
Governor Pillen’s State of the State Address
OMAHA, NE – Heath Mello, President & CEO of the Greater Omaha Chamber, released the following statement regarding Governor Jim Pillen’s State of the State Address:
“Today marks an important step forward for Nebraska’s economic competitiveness. The announcement of the Grow the Good Life Act reflects months of thoughtful collaboration between Governor Pillen, his team, the Greater Omaha Chamber, our board and Public Policy Council, private-sector employers, and other key partners to address one of our state’s most pressing challenges: retaining and expanding primary jobs and talent.
“This proposal builds directly on the work of Omaha COMPETES and is designed to help existing Nebraska employers grow by strategically relocating operations and people to our state. While the legislative process is just beginning, this partnership demonstrates a shared commitment to making Nebraska more competitive for investment, talent, and long-term economic growth, and we look forward to continuing this work in the months ahead. We know that we will look back on this day for years to come where we made a critical investment in our future that made all the difference.”
