Greater Omaha Chamber Announces 

Board Chairs for 2026 and 2027

Omaha, NE — The Greater Omaha Chamber has announced the Chairs of the Greater Omaha Chamber Board of Directors for 2026 and 2027. Paul West, Managing Partner of Carson Wealth, will serve as chair for 2026 and David E. Cota, Executive Vice President at FNBO (First National Bank of Omaha), will serve as Chair-Elect and become chair in 2027.

“Paul West and David Cota will do an incredible job representing the best of Greater Omaha’s business and civic leadership,” said Heath Mello, President & CEO of the Greater Omaha Chamber. “Together, they bring a deep commitment to developing the next generation of leaders and a clear vision for where this region can go. I look forward to their guidance for the Chamber’s work at this pivotal time as we continue building a more competitive, connected, and opportunity-rich future for Greater Omaha.”

Beth Whited, former President of Union Pacific Railroad, served in this role for 2025. The responsibilities of the board chair focus on leadership convening and development, board governance, and strategic planning. The position works closely with the Chamber President & CEO on business development priorities and fostering advocacy and collaboration with broader business community.

Paul West, CFP®, CAP®, CExP, is managing partner at Carson Wealth. He has built countless relationships around Omaha through his professional and philanthropic work, including with the Greater Omaha Chamber board. He currently serves the community in other roles including as chair of the board for the Dreamweaver Foundation and as a board member for Omaha Marion, OICH, and CHI Foundation.

“Greater Omaha is at an important moment, and the Chamber plays a critical role in bringing leaders together around a shared vision for growth, competitiveness, and opportunity,” said Paul West. “That work requires forward thinking from every leader in our community about what this region can become. David E. Cota is the Executive Vice President at FNBO where he leads the company’s Banking Division. David is active in the Omaha community, having served on numerous non-profit boards over the years including the Madonna School, Omaha Children’s Museum, and the Omaha Symphony. In addition to being the Chamber’s Board Chair-Elect, he currently sits on the Board of Directors at Children’s Nebraska.
