Greater Omaha is home to Offutt Air Force Base, a nationally critical asset at the core of U.S. military and intelligence efforts. Offutt’s total economic impact is $2.9 billion, which includes more than $442 million in local expenditures annually. And with a total payroll topping $1 billion, nearly 7,000 active duty, reserve and national guard personnel serve at Offutt Air Force Base with nearly 11,000 civilians also working at the base.
