City of Omaha Proclaims March 17, 2026
as Greater Omaha Chamber Day
Omaha, NE – The Greater Omaha Chamber celebrates its 133rd anniversary today, marking more than a century of championing business, strengthening the regional economy, and convening leaders committed to advancing Greater Omaha.
In recognition of the Chamber’s impact, the City of Omaha has officially proclaimed March 17, 2026 as Greater Omaha Chamber Day.
For 133 years, the Greater Omaha Chamber has served as a catalyst for the region, bringing together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community partners who believe in the power of collaboration to move the region forward. Today’s recognition from the City of Omaha highlights the strong partnership between the business community and civic leadership that continues to shape the region’s economic future.
“March 17th, marks both the historic founding of this institution and a day to celebrate the thousands of members, from small businesses to global corporations, who contribute to the pulse of our city,” said John W. Ewing, Jr., Mayor of Omaha in an official City of Omaha Proclamation. “The Chamber’s commitment to making Omaha a world-class place to live, work, and play has resulted in a thriving business ecosystem that attracts talent and innovation from across the globe.”
While the milestone celebrates the Chamber’s history, Chamber leaders emphasized that the recognition is ultimately a celebration of the organization’s nearly 3,000 member businesses and the role they play in shaping the region’s future.
“The Greater Omaha Chamber’s story is really the story of our members,” said Heath Mello, President and CEO of the Greater Omaha Chamber. “For 133 years, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community partners have come together through this organization because they believe in the future of Greater Omaha. Today is a celebration of that shared commitment and of the businesses and leaders who continue to invest their time, ideas, and leadership into strengthening our region.”
The Greater Omaha Chamber expressed gratitude to its members, partners, and community leaders for their continued collaboration and commitment to Greater Omaha’s success.
