ASHLAND, Neb., September 27, 2019 – The Cass County Nebraska Economic Development Council and the broader Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership are cheering the grand opening of the region’s latest attraction – Kimberly Creek Retreat in Ashland, Neb.

Situated on 20 wooded acres halfway between Omaha and Lincoln, Kimberly Creek Retreat offers a range of glamping (glamour camping) options, including its Homestead cabin, two pods (The Nook and the Cranny) and two geo-domes (Dream Queen and King Dome). All of the accommodations include heating and air conditioning, a kitchenette, and en-suite bathroom with private shower.

“We provide all of the amenities such as bedding, towels, cookware, utensils, a private propane grill and fire pit. We want to have a turnkey glamping experience so that our guests can relax and enjoy the serenity of our private nature sanctuary,” said Chris Petersen who co-owns the venue with Mike Kennedy. “One of our glampers, perhaps, said it best: ‘It’s like having a luxury hotel room in the middle of a forest.’”

Onsite activities include everything from hiking to hayrack rides and other seasonal events. Kimberly Creek Retreat is also close to Cass County’s array of major attractions, including Mahoney State Park, the Strategic Air and Space Museum and the Lee G. Simmons Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari.

“Mahoney State Park and Platte River State Park have been very helpful in referring guests when they can’t accommodate them. We also make referrals back to the parks for rooms and activities. It is a great example of a public-private partnership,” Petersen said.

Jennifer Serkiz, executive director – Cass County Nebraska Economic Development Council, said, “Just like Cass County itself, Kimberly Creek Retreat is that perfect blend of adventure and serenity; a high-caliber addition to our community and regional economy. We’re grateful to

Chris and Mike for their vision and for giving us this prime, new spot to relax and catch our breath.”

Kimberly Creek Retreat celebrated its official opening with an event on Friday, Sept. 27. Guests can make reservations for all of the accommodations, including the King Dome, which opens in mid-October. For more information about Kimberly Creek Retreat, visit https://www.kimberlycreekretreat.com.
