Educating, exciting and inspiring tomorrow’s workforce – that’s a mission we can all rally around and the reason the Chamber launched its award-winning Careerockit program in 2017. We’re encouraging you to “get on board” in 2019 and help us make Careerockit’s third year the most impactful yet!

During Careerockit 2018, thousands of students participated in more than 22,000 career experiences: tours, workshops, hands-on activities and other experiences hosted by almost 200 area businesses and organizations. (We’re shooting for even more in 2019.)

Those career experiences gave students direct exposure to the range of opportunities awaiting them in Greater Omaha after graduation. That’s the ultimate goal. We developed Careerockit to bring our business and educational communities together to help students move along the learning pipeline, gain applicable knowledge and build excitement for local career options – all to build our talent pipeline and ensure our region can meet its current and future talent needs.

An effort of this scale is only possible with countless partners and supporters. Participating employers represent all sectors and sizes – from nonprofits and large employers to small businesses. Those employers are rewarded by seeing their employees engage in something that contributes to our community and inspires our future workforce. Participating educators tell us they appreciate that Careerockit helps them connect their classroom curriculum to “real-world” applications.

We’re proud of Careerockit’s growth and impact, and are grateful to the more than 200 organizations that hosted students last year. If you haven’t been a Careerockit participant in the past, then there’s never been a better time to commit than right now. Careerockit career experiences will be held the week of February 11-15, 2019. Visit Careerockit.com to register your business or class, or to learn even more. Together, we can reach our 2018 goal of 300 businesses participation.

Thanks so much for all you do to help our community thrive.
