Enlightened. Engaged. Empowered.

Our Annual Meeting gives us a chance to showcase who we are, our culture and values, as well as look back on our year’s accomplishments.

And 2017 was certainly a remarkable year – with common themes of collaboration, determination, creativity and a focus on outcomes. We operated under the strategic direction of five goals – each with a number of objectives and measures of success. With you, we’re inventing the future every day, accomplishing more, together. We encourage you to check out our environmentally friendly Annual Report online – and you’ve got every reason in the region to review the record-breaking accomplishments you helped make.

One of the traditional elements of our Annual Meeting is also one of the most important – recognizing individuals and organizations who’ve strengthened our Chamber and our community.

Chairman’s Award of Excellence celebrates an individual who has produced exceptional Chamber membership sales and retention results. Erik Terkelsen was honored for his results as a relatively new member and co-chairman of the President’s Club, the Chamber’s elite group of volunteers who assist us in selling and retaining members. We appreciate your commitment to our organization.

Headliner of the Year is given to an organization that has positively impacted Omaha and Nebraska’s image. This year’s winner was Omaha Equestrian Foundation, which was instrumental in attracting the FEI World Cup Finals in Jumping and Dressage – an event that made an indelible impression across the globe.

Volunteer of the Year award recognizes a person who really goes above and beyond, offering so much of their time and effort to the Chamber and the business community. Jim Greisch was selected for his leadership and guidance through various aspects of our organization. Thank you for sharing your extensive experience and knowledge to help guide our efforts in making our region and state more competitive for business and talent growth.

Our keynote, John C. Maxwell, shared impactful leadership strategies to help attendees move their organization forward through catalytic change and immediate, purposeful action. He inspired leaders to recognize, realize and apply principles of leadership to increase effectiveness, boost inclusivity and incite positive change.

“If you want to grow your business, grow your leadership. Develop the leader within YOU!”

It was truly an Annual Meeting worthy of the Chamber’s 125th birthday. Here’s to inventing the next 125!
