Local cooking is one of the more beautiful forms that human generosity takes.

– Michael Pollan

The inaugural Kitchen Council (KC) pop-up dinner was the purest form of generosity an event could take, bringing together friend and stranger alike to celebrate the KC members and support our local food ecosystem. From the entertainment to the place cards, each aspect of the night was a love letter to all things local.

A packed house mingled during cocktail hour and enjoyed a variety of pizzette from Pomodoro Fresh Italian and a mozzarella, pistachio and honey crostini from MJER Help. After a brief introduction from Clare Watson Bartolomei (the Kitchen Council team’s freshest face), the real fun began, with each guest getting to select from a variety of member prepared dishes including Italian beef sandwiches from Chicago Dawg House, fancy mac from D’s Catering and ending with s’more stuffed cookies topped with a caramelized marshmallow from Copper Finch Creations. Each KC member also got an opportunity to explain their food concepts and background, the finishing touch to an amazing family style meal.
