Backyard View: Omaha Through the Eyes of Judith Welk
January 8 @ 10:00 am - January 31 @ 5:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, repeating until January 31, 2020
Judith Welk, long favored for her nostalgic and emotive paintings and serigraphs of Omaha neighborhoods and landmarks will be the focus of an exhibition on view through the month of January.
Judith Welk was an Omaha artist for over 40 years and found inspiration in the beauty of Omaha surroundings, her Dundee home, her neighborhood, the Midwest hills and her family. She captured moments at the Orpheum Theater, Old Market, Memorial Park, and Elmwood Park, in addition to the idyllic landscapes of rural Nebraska and Wisconsin. Her work captured the essence of the seasons, the freshness of outdoor settings as well as the intimacy of the view out her windows. Judith Welk leaves a body of work that reflected her love for the city of Omaha, defined her very present passion of the painting process itself and solidified her role as one of Omaha’s preeminent artists.
The show runs January 3rd-31st.
