2020 is off to a great start for our team and we are looking forward to sharing our plan with you!

Over the next year, our focus will be the pipeline of the youngest YPs, the vibe of Omaha, our partnerships in the community, and our ongoing work to make our engagements, opportunities, and practices more equitable and inclusive.

Talent Attraction Committee, led by Chris Humphries, will host two INTRO events to welcome individuals to the Greater Omaha area, re-launch the Ambassadors program, and partner with organizations to attract more talent to our area. This team has already engaged with over 500 students to showcase what Greater Omaha has to offer and welcome the students and their families to our community.

Talent Development Committee, lead by Rebecca Atkins, will focus on strengthening the pipeline of the youngest YPs by participating in Careerockit, hosting Council of Companies events in partnership with Creighton University and the CODE Council, supporting YP ERGs that are new or YPs wanting to start a group in their company, and host or co-host various events to engage YPs in meaningful development opportunities.

Talent Retention Committee, led by Zach Reinheart, is focused on the vibe of Greater Omaha and ensuring YPs know what our community has to offer. The team supports YP Summit, partners with organizations to bridge connections, and has co-hosted YP Day at the Capitol. Over the next year, the team will execute on a Letter Writing Event, to engage YPs in the advocacy process by teaching citizens how to contact their state representatives, and our annual State of Our City event.

Our final committee is focused on internal operations, led by Alysia Radicia. This team focuses on internal engagement and hosting fun events for our team, recruitment and selection of our future members, communications, and partnering with our internal committees and external partners on programming for YPs. Within this team, Gunhee Park has focused on continuing to work on the YP Exit Survey. The results are coming soon and we cannot wait to share what we found as reasons why YPs are leaving Greater Omaha.
