As you may have seen, shared electric scooters are officially on the streets of Omaha. The Omaha City Council voted to approve agreements with scooter companies for six-month trials.

Here’s a quick guide to get you started:

The Scooters

The scooters travel up to 15 mph.

Lime charges a fixed rate to unlock a vehicle and then per minute as you ride.

Users can ride between the hours of 5 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. daily.

The Rules

Ride them on streets and bike lines – Not on sidewalks.

Stay out of forbidden zones. These are noted on the app and you’ll get notified repeatedly if you are in a no-go zone.

Follow parking rules to prevent blocking pedestrian traffic or access to businesses.

Wear a helmet.
