When we think about some of the important values that the young professionals hold, typically transportation, diversity and inclusion, community development and STEM come to mind. These fundamental values are exactly what the 2018 YP Exchange was framed around.

After the amazing keynote from Dominique Morgan about making an impact from any zip code, YPs had the option to choose from breakout sessions covering transportation, affordable housing, STEM, as well as upcoming community development initiatives such as Smart Cities and the Riverfront Redevelopment. YPs engaged within these conversations and shared their insights. The discussions were led by city leaders who helped attendees develop real action steps to engage their community.

“We tried to provide attendees with tangible ways they could provide feedback or engage on a particular issue. Once equipped with information, everyone had a lot of energy and ideas to help move the issues forward.”
– Andrew Prystai, programming chair for the Greater Omaha Chamber Young Professionals.

“The point of YP | Exchange is to give young professionals a space to engage on topics and to connect with people of similar interest. Omaha can feel like a big city but we want to give people the tools to get connected and be a part of inspiring progress.” – Julie Smith, chairperson, 2019 YP | Exchange
