Excellence is a way of life in Greater Omaha. The dedication of outstanding organizations and individuals – continually striving to be the best, improving their community in the process, makes this region such a vibrant place to do business, work and live. Formally known as the Big O! Excellence Awards, the Greater Omaha Chamber’s Greater Omaha Business Excellence Awards recognize this dedication to excellence in the following categories: Business Woman | Corporate Citizen | Innovator | Milestone | Minority Business | Nonprofit | *Small Business 

Who has been nominated before? 

How can I nominate?

  • Companies and individuals may nominate themselves or may be nominated by a third party.
  • Nominations are scored by the members of the Greater Omaha Business Excellence Awards Selection Committee comprised of Greater Omaha business leaders and past award recipients.
  • All nominated businesses or individuals must be Greater Omaha Chamber members based in the Greater Omaha metropolitan area – Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy, Saunders and Washington counties in Nebraska, and Harrison, Mills and Pottawattamie counties in Iowa.
  • Nominations are accepted online from January 3, 2014 – February 14, 2014. Late nominations will not be considered.
  • Finalists will attend – and winners will be announced at – the 2014 Greater Omaha Business Excellence Awards Luncheon on May 22, 2014. Finalists will participate in a video shoot designed to tell their story and demonstrate their commitment to excellence. The videos will be shown at the awards luncheon.

Recognizes the achievements of women in the Omaha community who have a drive for excellence in business, a strong vision for the future, a dedication to the betterment of our community and a passion for developing others

Corporate Citizen 
Given to an organization that goes above and beyond to foster an environment of community improvement and support

Recognizes an individual or business creatively making a difference by making innovation part of their everyday ‘routine’ and providing tangible benefits through their work

Milestone Awards
Recognizes Greater Omaha area businesses celebrating 25, 50, 75, 100, 125 or 150 years in business in 2014 

Minority Business Impact
Recognizes a successful minority-owned business or organization that has demonstrated business growth and contributions to the community and has an operating history of at least three years
