The vision of the Young Professionals Council is that Omaha will be one of the top communities in which young professionals want to live and work.

The mission of the Council is to create excitement about living in Omaha in order to attract and retain diverse young professionals.

To serve on the Young Professionals Council, candidates must be 25-40 years old and currently employed by a Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce member organization.

How do I get involved?
You can get involved in the YPC’s efforts in a number of ways. First, we suggest signing up for our e-mail list so that you can stay informed on what’s happening.

Secondly, attend our quarterly events where you can meet the Council and get updates on our progress.

Do I have to be employed at a Chamber member company to be involved in the YPC’s activities?
To participate on any of the YPCs committees as a volunteer, you do not have to be employed by a Chamber member company. However, to serve on the Council itself, you must be employed by a Chamber member company.

Is there a membership fee?
The YPC is not a dues paying organization. There is no membership fee.

How is this group different than other young professional groups?
The Young Professionals Council is not a membership or dues paying organization. It is a task force led by young professionals dedicated to improving the city of Omaha for the greater young professional community and to help our businesses and the city better attract, retain and engage this age group.

How much time do I have to commit if I volunteer on a committee?
The time commitment varies by committee, however, most committees meet at least monthly.

How do I get on the Council Board?
