Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, and Henry M. Paulson, Jr., the 74th United States Treasury Secretary, will discuss current economic issues and Paulson's upcoming book at the Greater Omaha Chamber's 2010 Annual Meeting Luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Qwest Center Omaha, 455 N. 10th St.
Omaha's own Warren Buffett has controlled Berkshire Hathaway Inc., a holding company, since 1965. It has 76 operating businesses, including several in Omaha, with its largest source of earning arising from property-casualty insurance and reinsurance. It is also owned common stocks with a value of $75 billion at year end 2007.
Secretary Paulson navigated one of the most tumultuous eras in U.S. economic history while serving as Secretary of the Treasury. Excerpts from his book, "On the Brink: Inside the Race to Stop the Collapse of the Global Financial System," to be released on Monday, Feb. 1, will be the basis for his discussion with Buffett.
In addition, David G. Brown, Chamber president and CEO, will present the Chamber's Chairman's Award of Excellence, Headliner of the Year Award and Volunteer of the Year Award.
