Greater Omaha Chamber

Principal for a Day®

Principal for a Day®

The Principal for a Day® program is an eye-opening experience for participants and school administrators alike. See what it takes to make the grade in today's public schools!

The shadowing program pairs business leaders with elementary, middle and high school principals to share ideas and to gain an understanding of how public school administrators interact with students, faculty and staff on a daily basis. Relationships are built and partnerships formed between community and school leaders. The program is designed to enhance the communication and partnership between business and education.

Through Principal for a Day®, the Greater Omaha Chamber offers a unique opportunity to get a first-hand view of the challenges and rewards of being a school administrator. Business leaders also find out what resources are available to administrators and what may be lacking.

The program is sponsored by the Chamber's Omaha 21st Century: Education and Workforce Development Council and the Richard and Mary Holland Foundation.

Thoughtful consideration is given to matching participants and administrators. Specific criteria including areas of personal and professional expertise, the immediate needs of the school and the particular interests of the business person yield what is hoped to be a meaningful connection.

Many schools are working to develop relevant learning experiences for students in an effort to build the skills and knowledge necessary for careers. It's also a great opportunity for your company to showcase itself and perhaps recruit future interns or employees.

Go back to school for a day and learn lessons that will last a lifetime! Contact Christine Fortier at (402) 233-7146 for more information or to find out when the next event takes place.
