Greater Omaha schools and the business community are partners in education. We all are working toward the same objective - helping schools produce the best product possible - exceptional employees for Greater Omaha businesses!
The A Corporate Experience for Educators program is an offshoot of the Greater Omaha Chamber's very successful Principal for a Day® program where business leaders spend time in the schools. In this program we invite our public school educators into businesses to give them a chance to see the relevance of what is taught in the classroom.
The shadowing program pairs business leaders with educators to share ideas and to build relationships. The program is designed to give educators a true understanding of what the business world is like and what skills are essential for their students to master in order to enter the work place sufficiently prepared.
The Chamber realizes how important it is for educators to be aware of the types of careers available within a specific industry, as well as the skills and knowledge required to prepare our future generation of workers for those careers. This event allows educators to see first hand how the education system is preparing students for the workforce.
Thoughtful consideration is given to matching educators and business leaders. Specific criteria, including areas of professional expertise and the particular interests of the educator, yield what is hoped to be a meaningful connection. Contact Christine Fortier at (402) 233-7146 for more information or to find out when the next event takes place.
